We <3 Team in Training

Tonight, we went to the Team in Training information meeting. It was at the Bryn Mawr Running Co out in Media. The meeting was so inspirational, though it was hard to watch the informational video about racing in honor of survivors, and in memory of those who have lost their battle with leukemia and lymphoma. Team in Training seems like such an incredible organization and we are both so excited to be taking part in something so meaningful. It is truly special.

We found out about all the things Team in Training can do for us as well. They have a training plan which is slightly different than the one we had planned for ourselves, so we might alter ours a bit, or do a combination of the two. Every weekend there is a scheduled team run that we have the option of doing to help us prepare for race day. The best part is that they have water stations on these team runs! We also got mentors to help us through the process of preparing for a half marathon. We also have the benefit of fundraising together, which is nice because every dollar we earn we get to split 50/50. We'll have more information on that shortly. There are many events in the upcoming race season, and we were tempted to change our game plan. However, the Lehigh Valley half marathon is so perfect for us because of location and the date. While competing in any race raises money and awareness for such an important cause, ultimately we are doing this to honor Dad.

After the meeting, we went out for a back-to-school dinner. We brought our folder into dinner to read more about Team in Training because we are so excited about this!

Team in Training and wine!

Goodnight!
